4 miles may seem like a really long way, but it is a beautiful walk for me and so many different things to see along the way.
There are:
- Flowers - the buildings along Lake Shore Drive always keep up the best flower beds
- Parks or a Lake Front - There are basically two routes that I can take. One is to walk through Lincoln Park amongst the trees and geese. The other is along the lake front path. The lake is beautiful but there is less chance of getting run over by a bike through the park so I usually go that way.
- People doing crazy exercises - it's fun to watch all the boot camp classes along the way. They are strange!
- Monuments - usually to the most random people/things ever
- Geese, geese and more geese.
- Camels - That's right, you heard me. I only know one other person who might see camels on her walk home and she lived in Dubai. Did I forget to mention that smack in the middle of Lincoln Park is the Lincoln Park zoo? The other night it was already closed but if I get out of work early enough, I can take a detour through the zoo and visit with some animals. I think they have a new lion there that I'll have to go check out.
- Fountains - lots of them
- A Conservatory - I have never been in there so I'll put it on my list of detours soon.
- The Nature Museum - Also never been in there.
It's even better at night but every time I see this skyline, I remember that I love this city.
I'd say that's not so bad for a long walk home.
