Chef Jimzey strikes again!

I'm a big fan of having a friend who is a chef and also just an all around nice guy! Last night I had plans to go shopping with Chef Jimzey's lovely wife. Before we left I was informed that not only was Chef Jimzey going to be cooking dinner for all of us when we returned, but that he was also going to drive us downtown so that we didn't have to take the bus! We were dropped off right outside the store we wanted to go to and I promptly tripped while getting out of their car. If I hadn't been holding onto the door and if Leah hadn't been right there to help me I am sure I would have much more than just a bruise on my knee. I survived and the shopping began. Our mission was to find something cute to wear for New Year's Eve and to exchange one Christmas present. I found a cute sweater on super sale but it's not really NYE caliber. I think that Leah was the only successful one finding a really cute shirt to wear and making a very good exchange of a present. Oh well. I am pretty sure I have numerous things in my closet that will do just fine for this evening.
Since Chef Jimzey was at home busy preparing our dinner, we did have to take the bus home. But, it arrived after only a couple of minutes of waiting and was empty enough that we all got seats.
On the menu last night? Lime and Thyme chicken! It's dinner and poetry all in one! The recipe simply said serve the chicken with rice. Do you think that we got just plain old rice? No! Our fabulous chicken was served on a bed of rice with dried cranberries, onion and yellow squash that had all been sauted in the same lime and thyme mixture that the chicken was flavored with. Oh so tasty! Thanks Chef Jimzey!!
