It's a sad day...

My favorite pair of shoes is dying. This afternoon, the little button on the strap popped off.
See, here it is on my desk instead of on my shoe

The button on the other shoe long ago lost it's fancy fabric top and has just been a shell of itself. However, it still functioned.

I think that I am just going to cut the straps off of them so that I can continue to wear them. While the straps were what made the shoes so stinking cute, they were always a bit on the tight side.
So much sadness...

Dude, take it to a shoe repair place...they can do wonders! I take my shoes into that place in the plaza with Panera and Borders and Famous Footwear up on Lincoln and McCormick and they always get the job done. It's worth a try at least!

:-( I have a pair of black flats that I shouldve gotten rid of ages ago but they are among my faves.

Can't you just sew on a new button? You're handy...

I'm with Sarah--make your way to a local shoe repair shop, post haste! Not only will they be able to fix the buttons but they can loosen/stretch those straps so they're not so tight, too.
